Our Work

We further our mission by providing historians and journalists with the archived material of the Chennault family, publishing important manuscripts, and acting as the donor for the Anna Chennault Scholarship.

These archives contain several thousand pages documenting Claire Lee Chennault’s personal and business interests, primarily those before and after World War II. They cover both his time with CAF aviation and with the American military-trained members of the AVG Flying Tigers. Post-war, some records cover his advocacy for American and European interest in Asia’s developing business and political landscape. Other records cover his post-war business interests, particularly Civil Air Transport and its related entities. Personal records involve his marriage to Chinese journalist Anna Chennault in 1947 and their family.

The archives also hold extensive records related to Anna Chennault and her activities after Chennault’s death in 1958, including political fundraising and advocacy for continued support for Chinese allies.
